Hi Laurie -- I was unable to read your entire statement or to reread my entire statement. Is there some secret to opening them up so I can read them? Thanx.

Thank you and I should add that my idea was to use your photos to help pitch an article investigating what happened to the totems. There is some rather alarming development going on in these parts so your photo could help tell it. But in general, if you are not familiar with the world of licensing your photography, please check out INTERNATIONAL LIVING as a resource, they work with people who teach photographers how to earn money from royalties by offering non-exclusive, use-specific licenses to print, tv and online formats. You can keep your copyright but rent it out for money to tenants you like, simply put. Within three year of uploading 20 images a week to four stockphoto houses online, you could be getting 6 figures in royalties. So there's that. Meanwhile I am not earning from the writing but would like to be and should your photo come into that I will contact you for permission and share any wealth. Message me if you would like to be in touch. Meanwhile please keep doing beautiful work even if you do accidentally also earn tons of money from people like me opening my mouth.

Laurie, thank you for your poignant comments. I was there a couple weeks ago and they were still there, and I am saddened to hear that they've been destroyed...progress, they call it? This is very unfortunate. As far as my work being licensed for print articles, I'm not sure what that means...but yes you have my permission to use my photograph. Thank you again, and please keep me informed...

Thank you for taking this photo. I have been praying at these totems for most of 2015 and appreciate the cormorants there every time. Today I was devastated to discover the totem poles have been removed, and there are now security cams there. Beach vendors report having seen wrecking crews removing things from the site this week. I am using this photo with your photo credit on it to address the situation. If this is a problem in any way for you, please contact me, but I assumed it would serve you, too. Thank you for memorializing a beautiful place. Please contact me to let me know if you license your work for print articles, as I may report on this incident. Beautiful work.
